Red stags hunted in Bulgaria are known for their world class quality. The trophies are from 9 to 14 kg.

The red deer in the mountainous areas has weight between 7-9 kg, while in plain areas it is heavier. In Bulgaria has been obtained the heaviest trophy in Europe - 19,2 kg.

Because of the rich natural biotope and the good management, there are particularly strong populations with very good trophy qualities – with vigorous, beautiful and symmetric crowns, dark antlers with many pearls, with long and even spikes and white ends.

In Bulgaria the red deer is hunted stalking and from high seat. During the mating period in September the hunting is most successful.

Red deer hunting area:It is a very beautiful, hilly landscape-part of the Stara Planina mountains, some 500-1300 m above sea level. The trophies are notable for the high quality. To Bulgaria belongs the world record - 273.60 p. CIC. The organisation of the hunt is very good with experienced stalkers and dog handlers, so we can offer you a very emocional hunting for capital red stags.

Acompaning hunting: It can be matched with the hunting of wild boar, fallow deer and mouflon.

Hunting period: Males and calfs: from 1st of September to 31 of January

Hinds: from 1 st of October to 31 of December

Wounded and not found red deer is paid as follows: 50 % of the price of the trophy requested by the hunter

The trophy is weighted in kg with upper jaw 24 hours after the shooting and the trophy boiling.

Deviation +/- 15 % from the requested weight of trophy is paid.


Price per hunter:4 hunting days

With 1 hunter - € 1400

With 2 hunters- 1250 euro

The price includes:

  • Reception and assistance on arrival at Sofia airport
  • Accomodation in a three star hotel or a hunting house in single rooms on a full board basis during the above indicated period
  • The transfers from the airport to the hunting district and back to the airport, all transport during the hunt
  • The assistance of an interpreter from the arrival to the departure
  • The organization of the hunting with professional hunting guides
  • Bulgarian hunting licence valid 30 days
  • Veterinary certificate
  • Trophy measurement after CIC methods
  • Export documents


The price does not include:

  • The transport to/from Bulgaria
  • The alcoholic drinks
  • The game
  • The telephone
  • The tips and the personal expenses
  • Spedition of the trophies
