In Bulgaria, wild boar hunting is preferred and traditional. Hunting is from high seat, driven hunting, and in some hunting regions–stalking. The most frequently shot wild boars have tusks with length 20-27 cm and usually get silver and gold medals. Wild boars with length of tusks over 27cm can be also shot.

The best time for hunting form high seat is just before or after full moon, from November until March.
The national record was shot in Rhodope Mountain and its appraisal is 158,20 CIC points.

There are very good wild boar trophies in all parts of the country. Most of the hunting reserves in Bulgaria are opened and if you like the true and savage hunting Bulgaria is one of the best destinations in Europe.
Typical for the mountainous parts is the large width of the tusks, which assures high evaluation and at least, a bronze medal.
 

Wild boar hunting in Bulgaria / Driven hunt

Hunting area: Relatively easy hunting areas. Deciduous and coniferous lowrise and highrise forests.

Hunting season: from 1st October to 31 st December

Price per person : 4 hunting days - € 1100

The price includes:

  • Reception and assistance on arrival at Sofia airport
  • Accomodation in a three star hotel or a hunting house in double rooms on a full board basis during the above indicated period
  • The transfers from the airport to the hunting areas and back to the airport, all the transfers in the hunting area
  • The assistance of an interpreter from the arrival to the departure
  • The organization of the hunting with qualified staff, local hunting guides, beaters, dog handlers, jeeps
  • Bulgarian hunting licence valid 30 days
  • Veterinary certificate
  • Trophy measurement after CIC methods
  • Export documents


The price does not include:

  • The transport to/from Bulgaria
  • The alcoholic drinks
  • The game
  • The tips and the personal expenses
  • Spedition of the trophies
  • Anything not mentioned under the “The price includes”


Extra charges:

  • Extra hunting day - 300 €
  • Rifle hire per day - 30 €
