Wood-grouse capercalzie in Bulgaria are from 4 to 5 kg. Bulgaria is one of the few countries in Europe, where this rare and valuable trophy can be obtained.
Lekking of the cock at dawn, before the sunrises  in the virgin forests is an unforgettable experience you can live in the mountain reserves in Bulgaria. The natural habitats of the capercaillies are high in Rhodope Mountains and Rila. The wood-grouse capercalzie can be combined with a wild boar hunting.

Wood-grouse hunting in Bulgaria

Wood-grouse hunting season: from 15th April to 15 th May

Hunting area: Coniferous and mixt forests with plane crests and slopes lit up by the sun, alpine fields and crops. The presence of white pine makes the hunting area more attractive for the wood-grouse capercalzie but it populates as well only spruce forests.

Acompaning hunting: It can be combined with the hunting of a chamois and a wild boar from high seat.

Price per person incl. 1 wood-grouse capercalzie: 4 hunting days - € 2400

The price includes:

  • Welcome to the airport
  • Accomodation in a three star hotel or a hunting house in single rooms on a full board basis during the above indicated period
  • The transfers from the airport to the hunting areas and back to the airport, all the transfers in the hunting area
  • The assistance of an interpreter from the arrival to the departure
  • The organization of the hunting with qualified staff, local hunting guides
  • Bulgarian hunting licence valid 30 days
  • Veterinary certificate
  • Export documents
