There are 38 genera and 155 species of pheasants. Of them in Bulgaria the species -Phasianus colochicus colochicus is found in nature.
Its typical habitats are dense forests near rivers, overgrown with thick grass and bushes and the open areas near them to about 400-500 m above sea level.
They fly off noisily and clumsily, most often one by one. At first they gain certain height, after which they fly rectilieneally.
In Bulgaria pheasants are hunted with dogs , by means of walking or driven hunt.

Hunting season: from 1th October to 30 th January


Acompaning hunting: It can be combined with the hunting of hares, partridges and quails.

Paquage price per person including 20 pheasants per hunter:
3 hunting days, min. 4 hunters - 1300 €

The price includes:

  • Welcome to the airport
  • Accomodation in a three star hotel or a hunting house in single rooms on a full board basis during the above indicated period
  • The transfers from the airport to the hunting areas and back to the airport, all the transfers in the hunting area
  • The assistance of an interpreter from the arrival to the departure
  • The organization of the hunting with qualified staff, local hunting guides
  • Bulgarian hunting licence valid 30 days
  • Export documents
  • 20 pheasants per hunter


The price does not include:

  • All that is not mentioned in the “The price includes”
  • The transport to/from Bulgaria

  • Rent a dog per day - € 25
  • Rent a hunting gun per day - € 25
  • Pheasant out of the paquage - 12 €, quail - 4 €. hare - 35 €, partridge - 25 €
